Spring 2010

When we moved from Port Washington, NY to Maryland, we wrote a thank-you letter to the director of the children's area of the library. We visited the library several times a week because of all the great activities for Elle and Seb. They contacted us for permission to use the letter in an article for the Family Place Libraries national newsletter. We miss that library!

Holly Olsen took some pictures of Elle and Seb before she moves and before Amber has a baby. This is a "sneak-peak" - we can't wait to see the rest!

We visited the Krewson's house for Easter egg painting. Corey is a soccer champ and, and Seb's soccer idol!

An Easter egg hunt with the Smiths, Christiansens, and Mizells

Since we didn't get tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll this year, we decided to hold our own! We set up lanes and invited the neighbors and a few ward friends.

Thought this picture was funny

Watching conference with Aunt Jan

Sebby turned Jan's cane (due to foot surgery) into an ad hoc golf club

Sad/funny: matching boots. Amber broke her foot at six months pregnant and Jan had foot surgery

Sebby's horse obsession reaching new heights. We said yes when he asked if he could eat dinner with his horse.

The McElwees from Philly visited. Twins Carter and Peyton looking adorable.

Glen Echo's Spring Festival

Talking to a potter at the festival.

Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival at the Howard County Fairgrounds. A sheep farmer let Elle have a hand at sheering. Elle was loving it!!

Every night Elle and Seb underline their scriptures when we read together. Seb was really getting into it this time.

Visiting the a Therapeutic Riding Center.

Amber's viola student takes riding lessons at the Therapeutic Riding Center. She let us come watch a lesson. Seb was in heaven.

Christine Towne looking good during her lesson.

Just reading the Church News. No big deal.

We had a great time visiting Aunt Tenessa and Uncle Geoff in Atlanta. Here is Elle at the airport for our 7 a.m. flight.

Tenessa let us goof around on the gymnastic equipment while she taught a dance technique lesson to the young gymnasts. This was a highlight of the trip!

Tesessa told us that these girls, ages 9-11, are training to audition for the U.S. Olympic team. They are at the gym 7 days a week.

Elle and Seb were fascinated while watching Tenessa teach

The girls did their floor routines for us before we left

Walking the dog with cousin Logan

We visited the goats at the end of the street.

Some vacation recreation

Georgia Aquarium. It's the largest aquarium in the world.

Moments before the 4D IMAX underwater adventure. Unfortunately, it scared Elle and Seb, and now Seb still talks about how he doesn't like "mean sharks."

Some old friends who worked with Amber at Jacob Lake, who now live in Atlanta, came to visit. It was fun to catch up with the Hill family!

Cousins Logan and Brooke

Dinner with some friends from Tenessa's ward.

The ward friends entertained Elle and Seb the whole time.

Seb showed off his soccer skills

All the kids were outside playing, but Elle wanted to dry dishes with Aunt Tenessa

We visited the "World of Coke" Coca-cola museum. Coke was invented in Atlanta.

Tenessa gave Elle a cat-purse. (They're called "pocket books" in Atlanta)

A coke couch from the set of American Idol (eight months pregnant)

The last room in the museum had hundreds of fountains were you could taste coke products from around the world. Fun, but it gave us all a stomach ache by the end of all of the sampling.
We ate at the South City Kitchen - Geoff's favorite southern cuisine restaurant. We had fried grits and fried green tomatoes.

The gymnastics gym in Atlanta: 1. Playing at the gym really brought out the difference between Elle and Seb's personalities. 2. Tenessa teaching some dance techniques to the young gymnasts. 3. A 9-year-old practicing her floor routine.

Here's a goody from the Spencer video archives. Enjoy!
